Marian Damparis

Marian is never called Damparis in the books for a very good reason: it's not her name. Yvonnet Damaparis is the woman in Dijon that nursed Marian during her last illness and whom Nicholas visits at the start of Race of Scorpions. When writing the Nikado I got this family mixed up in my mind, and thought that Damparis was Marian's original surname before she married Cornelis de Charetty.

Also, she is never referred to in the books as Marian Vander Poeler.
